Education Day at the Photoville Festival

Photoville Festival Education Field Trips are Back!

It’s summertime vibes at #PhotovilleFestival’s 2024 Education Programming happening for free this June!

Our 2024 Photoville Education Day includes field trips to our festival stomping grounds in Brooklyn Bridge Park, engaging conversations with professional artists, and a series of lively youth artist panel talks known as the Youth Artist Exchange, all tailored to middle and high school students.

Educators and parents can choose from several session offerings:

SESSION 1: June 4 / 9:30am – 1:30pm
SESSION 2: June 4 / 3:30pm – 6:30pm
SESSION 3: June 5 / 9:30am – 1:30pm

A Picnic in the Park will be held after each session.
Pizza and water will be provided.

Each year, the Education Day program includes the following:

Artist-led Exhibition Tour
Your students view and discuss a diverse group of photography exhibitions, ranging in topic, theme, and photographic approach.

Youth Photographer Panels
Your students hear from local youth photographers, to learn how their peers tell visual stories, and how they can get involved themselves.

Educator Resources and Professional Development
Educators receive a Resource Packet with images and discussion questions to teach from Photoville exhibitions. Browse & download some of our past resource guides in our education resources library.

Educator Happy Hour

The Photoville Educator Happy Hour is an informal way to connect with educators and art practitioners in the Photoville Education network at Brooklyn Bridge Park for the Opening Weekend Celebration at Photoville 2024!

Spend the day at the park exploring exhibitions, take part in our free workshops and tours, and then come meet up for Happy Hour with live music and visual storytelling on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

The first drink is on us!
