Wanderlust

Various Artists

For some, it’s in the blood, a part of their DNA. They’re always thirsty to explore, and to see what lies beyond that next hill. Some have traveled to claim land or seek riches; others for elbow room and the chance to encounter diverse cultures. Today’s modern modes of transportation have made it simpler to seek far reaches and remote pockets of the world, but wanderlust — our desire to travel — remains unquenched. As the great Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson once said, “For my part, I travel not to go anywhere but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” So join us as we set off on a journey — through the eyes of these talented photographers of a world that is forever moving, always keen to go just a little bit further, and a little bit higher.

As you travel along New York City’s historic East River, take a moment to pause and consider the value in seeking new places as a source of growth and inspiration.
