Photoville has partnered with Chicago photographer Kenn Cook on the West Side Outdoor Photo Exhibition, a series of five outdoor banner exhibitions bringing together photographs from From the Westside, With Love and This Far by Faith. On view August 15 – September 26, 2026, across five locations in Austin, East Garfield Park, West Garfield Park, and North Lawndale.
Kenn Cook Jr. is a Chicago-based artist and memory worker whose practice explores photography as a means of preserving cultural memory and expanding narratives of Black life. Cook has photographed for The New York Times, NPR, the Chicago Sun-Times, and the Magnum Foundation. His work is held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago. He received the 2024 LensCulture Emerging Talent Award and has served as an Artist-in-Residence at the Legler Regional Library and the Nichols Tower program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
