Community Heroes

Community Heroes is a community organizing and public art project celebrating the everyday heroes of our neighborhoods, with a focus on historic residents who have faithfully strengthened and supported their community. Local artists are commissioned to document these stories, and to create a public art exhibition in the neighborhood.
Community Heroes is produced and organized in collaboration with Trellis.
Proudly supported by Partnerships for Parks and PhotoWings.

 

Exhibition on view:

Fort Greene (Fort Greene Park)

Through August 2020 along the Brooklyn Hospital fence

How can I participate?

Nominate a Hero: Know someone who has faithfully nurtured and supported Bed Stuy and Crown Heights or Fort Greene? Nominate them to have their story told.

 

Take a Portrait: Seeking Bed Stuy, Crown Heights and Fort Greene artists to take a portrait for the public exhibition. Sign Up Here.
