Photoville has partnered with Brooklyn Org to produce a photo installation highlighting the Brooklyn Org 25, a group of community leaders recognized at the annual Brooklyn Org Changemakers Ball, to be shown at the Ball at Powerhouse Arts before moving to a public plaza in November for all of Brooklyn to see.
Brooklyn Org is a champion for Brooklyn, a partner and platform for local philanthropy that gives everyone a part to play in creating change. Over its 15+ year history, it has moved more than $150 million to nonprofits in partnership with generous Brooklynites, through its community-powered grantmaking and Donor Advised Funds (DAFs). Its network of changemakers—Brooklynites, Brooklyn backers, businesses, and broader believers in equity and justice—is powered by a shared vision of making Brooklyn a beacon for the world.
Every year, Brooklyn Org spotlights the borough’s emerging and long-time community leaders at the Brooklyn Org Changemakers Ball, recognizing a special group, The Brooklyn Org 25. This year’s cohort champions bold, hyper-local action across three urgent issues impacting their communities: defending rights, protecting families, and preserving arts and culture.
Together, they show what lasting transformation looks like when it starts from the ground up, built on the power, joy, and determination of Brooklyn’s people.
