The New York Times, Photoville and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY are once again producing this wonderful FREE opportunity for photographers. This year we are bringing together 160 talented photographers with 80 esteemed photo editors, publishers, and curators for the 13th annual New York Portfolio Review.
In response to high demand and our commitment to accessibility, the 2026 review will be offered both in person and online, ensuring participation from wherever you are. On Saturday, May 9th, the review will be virtual over Zoom, and Sunday, May 17th, the review will be hosted in-person during Photoville’s Opening Weekend in NYC.
Participation is open to anyone 18 or older. All types of photography will be considered.

Photographers can apply for either the in-person review, or the online review, but not both. Participation is open to anyone 18 or older.
Submissions are Now Closed. Thank you to all who applied!
A mainstay of photo events in the United States, the review convenes members of the photographic community to share work, exchange ideas, help each other — and have fun. The review welcomes photographers within photojournalism, editorial, and documentary photography, though all types of work will be considered.
Photographers can apply for either the in-person review or the online review, but not both. Once you apply you will not be able to change which day or format you wish to participate in.
Each in-person photographer will receive five private critiques. Each remote photographer will receive four private critiques.
On Saturday May 2 there will be an online orientation session with presentations open to all the photographers attending either day of the review.
