Education Day at the Photoville Festival

Photoville Festival Education Field Trips are Back!

It’s summertime vibes at #PhotovilleFestival’s 2023 Education Programming happening for free this June!
Our 2023 Photoville Education Day includes field trips to our festival stomping grounds in Brooklyn Bridge Park, engaging conversations with professional artists, and a series of lively youth artist panel talks known as the Youth Artist Exchange, all tailored to middle and high school students.
Educators and parents can choose from several session offerings:
SESSION 1: June 6 / 9:30am – 1:30pm
SESSION 2: June 6 / 3:30pm – 6:30pm
SESSION 3: June 7 / 9:30am – 1:30pm
A Picnic in the Park will be held after each session.
Pizza and water will be provided.

Educator Happy Hour

The Photoville Educator Happy Hour is an informal way to connect with educators and art practitioners in the Photoville Education network at Brooklyn Bridge Park for the Opening Weekend Celebration at Photoville 2023!

Spend the Day roaming through the park exploring exhibitions, maybe partake in one of our many free workshops and tours and then come meet up for Happy Hour where you may want to stay for some live music and visual storytelling on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

The first drink is on us!

Date: 6/3/2023
Time: 5:00pm-6:00pm

Each year, the Education Day program includes the following:

Artist-led Exhibition Tour

Youth Photographer Panels
Your students hear from local youth photographers, to learn how their peers tell visual stories, and how they can get involved themselves.

Educator Resources and Professional Development
Educators receive a Resource Packet with images and discussion questions to teach from Photoville exhibitions.

Our Festival education program is made possible thanks to our partners PhotoWings and the New York City Mayor’s office of Media and Entertainment.
