The United Photo Industries team could not be prouder to unveil 17 photographic exhibitions at the United Nations World Humanitarian Summit that took place in Istanbul, Turkey on May 23-24, 2016.
We were deeply honored to have the opportunity to spend time with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and offer him a tour of the exhibitions we curated.
It is a humbling experience to be part of the World Humanitarian Summit and to be given the opportunity to share these powerful photographic narratives by talented photographers from around the world with such a distinguished audience. It is also a testament to the unique power of photography to transcend language barriers and geographic divides to communicate an important message of urgency and hope at this crucial time in our world’s history.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the photographers and to our institutional partners who trusted us with presenting this work at the Summit: Alejandro Chaskielberg, Brent Stirton, Lynn Johnson, Imam Omar, Alessandro Falco, Peter Muller, Dario Mitidieri, Maria Turchenkova, Vincent Tremeau, Marco Gualazzini, Veejay Villafranca, Shannon Jensen, Gideon Mendel, Liam Maloney, Meredith Hutchison, Altaf Qadri, Overseas Development Institute (ODI), Reportage by Getty Images, National Geographic, Magnum Foundation, International Rescue Committee, Vision Not Victim Project, CAFOD.
