Back by popular demand, award-winning photojournalist Spencer Platt will guide students through the art and practice of street photography in this hands-on workshop. In reviewing local news and global issues, participants will learn how to look at stories for marketability and to shoot in an intimate way while maintaining a sense of objectivity. The workshop will also cover equipment, deadlines, the importance of strong captions, and social media.

This is a BYOC (bring-your-own-camera) workshop that will meet for an intro and slideshow session in the Photoville Workshop Area before heading out for a live, guided shooting session in and around Photoville. The workshop also includes an optional wrap-up session and casual group critique, where students can share work and ideas, and get feedback from instructors and workshop peers.
