PANELIST BIO

Aundre Larrow: On his fifteenth birthday, Aundre Larrow received a Minolta film camera from his high school theater teacher as a gift. Within 3 months, he had blown all of his money processing film filled with portraits of fast friends and loved ones. Ten years later, not much has changed. Aundre is a Brooklyn-based portrait photographer who has spent the last few years shooting editorial and lifestyle content for his clients. He most recently shot the NCAA Tournament, New York Fashion Week and a portrait project about immigration. Throughout the years, his work has always pursued the truth that can be found in portraiture and his current work as an Adobe Creative Resident is the next chapter of that.

Aundre’s clients include Adobe, CNN, American Express, Walker and Company, Samsung, Levi’s Commuter, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Moment Lens, ONA Bags, Ministry of Supply, Bleacher Report, Mack Weldon, and University of Florida Athletic Association, among others.

 

Delphine Diallo is a Brooklyn-based French and Senegalese visual artist and photographer.

She graduated from the Académie Charpentier School of Visual Art in Paris in 1999 before working in the music industry for seven years as a special effect motion artist, video editor and graphic designer. In 2008, she moved to New York to explore her own practice after giving up a cooperate Art Director role in Paris. Diallo was mentored by acclaimed photographer and artist of Peter Beard who was impressed by her creativity and spontaneity before offering her to collaborate for the Pirelli calendar photo shoot in Botswana. Inspired by new environments on this trip, she decided to return to her father’s home city of Saint-Louis in Senegal to start her own vision quest.

Sought to challenge the norms of our society, Diallo immerses herself in the realm of anthropology, mythology, religion, science and martial arts to release her mind. Her work takes her to far remote areas, as she insists on spending intimate time with her subjects to better able represent their most innate energy “I treat my process as if it were an adventure liberating a new protagonist” — Diallo’s powerful portraitures unmask and stir an uninhibited insight that allows her audience to see beyond the facade. “We are in constant search for wonder and growth. I see art asa vessel to express consciousness and an access to diffuse wisdom, enlightenment, fear, beauty, ugliness, mystery, faith, strength, fearless, universal matter”.

Where ever she can, Diallo combines artistry with activism, pushing the many possibilities of empowering women, youth, and cultural minorities through visual provocation. Diallo uses analog and digital photography, collage and illustration, 3D printing and virtual reality technologies as she continues to explore new mediums. She is working towards creating new dimensions and a place where consciousness and art are a universal language by connecting artists, sharing ideas and learning.

 

Leonor Mamanna is the Senior Photo Editor for Pursuits at Bloomberg Businessweek. She has previously worked at New York Magazine, The New York Times Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, GQ, Men’s Vogue, Money Magazine, and More. She was the photo director of the all-female magazine, Mary Review.

She has served on juries for PDN Photo Annual, Photoville, Latin American Fotografía and the Ellies.

Leonor is a native New Yorker from the Upper West Side who lives in Brooklyn.

 

Erick Urgiles: As a SONY Alpha Ambassador, Erick Hercules is known for pioneering and being one of the best and most influential non-Photoshop levitation photographers in the world, as well as for his immense contribution to “puddlegram” photography. Erick Hercules is a sought after visionary known for his engaging and energetic storytelling, combining both subjects and backdrops in a surrealistic manner.

Erick is known for his collaborations with brands like Converse, Puma, Palladium boots, Timberland, Swatch and Alpha Industries, with previous work displayed in prominent places such as Times Square billboards, flagship stores and magazines around the world. He specializes in footwear, fashion and product commercial photography.He is also a speaker, visual & branding strategist, and a creative consultant.

Raised in an artistic family, Erick spent his first 20 years being a classical singer, performing with world class choirs on salient stages and with many A-list celebrities. However, after co-founding Hercules NYC in the summer of 2012, he picked up a camera to do a photoshoot for what was then going to be Season 1 for the brand and immediately fell in love with the art of photography. Since then, he has been captivating the world with his images which encapsulate a new, fresh perspective, inspired by a mix of classical music training and a passion for great films and fashion.

Erick attended the prestigious Fiorello H. Laguardia High School for Music and Arts, as well as the Aaron Copland School of Music as a classical voice major.
